Outpace is an annual 5K run hosted by Stephenson Cancer Center to raise funds for cancer research.
Cooper House started working with longtime client Stephenson Cancer Center in 2013 when they had only been in operation for two years. We established their identity through an inspiring and empowering brand identity. For Outpace, Cooper House created the event brand ahead of Outpace’s first run in 2018 that included a vast number of applications for the event including posters, postcards to distribute in the neighborhoods where the race would take place, t-shirts, metals, and graphics for social media.
We associated Outpace with the Stephenson Cancer Center brand by maintaining some visual similarities, while also adding a sense of bold but accessible athleticism through unique elements. The strength of the community is told through portraits and interviews with many different cancer survivors. Our campaign included these moving portraits in print and video media. Our slogan “Bring Your Pace” was selected to communicate the race inclusivity and encourage greater participation. By focusing our branding on building community buy-in, we helped Stephenson outpace even their own expectations.
