Pencil Shavings Studio

Pencil Shavings Studio is all about celebrating preppy, whimsical style and bright color, and encouraging others to find beauty in the everyday. Created by graphic designer Rachel Shingleton, the Pencil Shavings blog was born in 2008 as a way for Rachel to catalog her favorite things and talk about freelance design projects; in 2011, Rachel opened an Etsy shop, where she specializes in unique iPhone cases and beautiful serving trays. Rachel’s designs are gaining so much popularity online, she’s been invited to create limited edition design for fashion retailer, The Limited for their Summer 2012 accessories collection.

Pencil Shavings Blog had been hosted on blogger for years and Rachel was ready to take the reigns and move to a hosted WordPress site. Building a new site was also an opportunity to combine the blog with the blossoming custom cases and trays business. Being a graphic designer herself, Rachel was able to work closely with CooperHouse through the design process to ensure the site inherited her style and penchant for color and whimsy.
